After 3 successful years, the ATU project has now ended. We have enjoyed working with our volunteers and the community of Folkestone immensely. You will see a lot less activity on this web site from now on, although we will keep you updated with related events and projects.

Running alongside the next ATU exhibition, Footprints from the Past, will be two special events for families. Both events are free but places are limited so book your place quickly. How many times have you seen a fascinating archaeological find in a museum or on TV and wanted to hold it in your own hand? Well now you can. Get hands on with some real archaeology as a volunteer finds processor for A Town Unearthed. You will be sorting, marking and recording finds from the 2010/11 Roman Villa dig. No experience is required as training is given. Processing takes place at our Dover stores.
